About Senator Lashrecse Aird
Senator Lashrecse D. Aird represents Virginia's 13th District, encompassing Petersburg, Hopewell, Charles City, Prince George, Surry, Sussex, and parts of Dinwiddie and Henrico Counties. A dedicated public servant, Senator Aird made history as the youngest woman ever elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2016, serving three impactful terms before her election to the Virginia Senate in 2023.
Throughout her legislative career, Senator Aird has championed education reform, healthcare equity, criminal justice reform, and economic development. Her legislative accomplishments include groundbreaking efforts such as fully funding public education, passing environmental justice protections, banning "no-knock" warrants, expanding healthcare access for underserved communities, and securing significant economic investments for her district.
